Bio:  The 358th Infantry Regiment Co. C was part of the Allied invasion of Normandy.  As Allied troops advanced across Europe in the days following the D-Day Invasion, the 358th made preparations to assault the village of St. Germain-sur-Seves.  On July 22-23, 1944, the 358th encountered heavy resistance from German troops and suffered heavy casualties, and it’s likely that Jesse lost his life during this battle.  Despite the heavy losses, the stage had been set that allowed the Third Army under the command of Lt. General George Patton to break through and advance across France.
